Scarlett Johansson Joins Feeding America to Raise Awareness for Hunger

In a promotion for Feeding America, actress Scarlett Johansson opened up about her personal experiences to raise awareness for child hunger. She revealed that her family relied on public assistance in order to get meals while growing up.

"Child hunger in America is a real and often overlooked problem, but one that together, we can fix," said Johansson, "It is my hope that by joining with Feeding America, our awareness of this issue will lead to a solution." Johansson’s "Avengers: Age of Ultron co-star," Jeremy Renner also filmed two PSAs for the campaign, reports US Weekly. According to his video, 16 million American children are currently struggling with hunger.

We admire the actress' honesty and efforts towards gaining awareness for a cause that impacts many children throughout our country. This is an excellent example of how celebrities can use their stardom for good, which is what makes Scarlett Johansson a MAKER in the Making. Watch her full PSA for Feeding America below.
