Nearly 4.3M People Signed a Petition to "Make Hillary Clinton President On December 19"

There has been quite the mix of emotions in the United States (and in the world) since President-elect Donald Trump made his victory speech on November 8.

And as if his election did not come as enough of a shock to everyone — including both the Trump and Clinton campaign teams — the news of the electoral and popular vote disconnect has caused even more of a stir.

Amidst the protests, social media movements, and other reactions to the outcome, some of those who were #WithHer believe it is still possible to make a serious difference.

To do this, they're creating and sending out petitions, one of which actually calls on the Electoral College to "Make Hillary Clinton President on December 19" because its creator believes Trump is "unfit to serve" due to "his scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger."

Even though, as Cosmopolitan writes, "Historically, 99 percent of electors in the Electoral College have 'voted as pledged,' and those who haven't have never actually made enough of a difference to sway an election," people are still clinging to hope.

With over 4.3 million signers, this promise is definitely pushing for the very thing for which its organization stands: change.
