Twitter Is Excited About "Anastasia" Moving to Broadway, And So Are We

If you've never seen the classic 1997 film, "Anastasia" tells the story of the last surviving child of the Russian royal family who joins two con men to help her reunite with her grandmother, the Empress.

After having a completely sold-out and record-breaking premiere at the Hartford Stage in Connecticut, the musical will be moving to Broadway.

Over the years, the Internet has been begging for remake of Twentieth Century Fox's "Anastasia," and although there won's be a movie remake, Twitter users' prayers have been answered.

"Anastasia" will open at the Broadhurst Theater on Broadway on April 24, 2017. It will include the treasured songs from the movie, including the Oscar-nominated "Journey to the Past," plus an entirely new score.

The main characters of the Broadway show will feature Christy Altomare as the determined orphan princess Anya, and Derek Klena as her love interest, Dmitry.

Tickets go on sale this fall, so make sure you get them before they sell out.
