Viola Davis to Get First Hollywood Walk of Fame Star in 2017

Award-winning actress Viola Davis will be honored with the 2,596th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the beginning of 2017.

Davis is currently the lead actress in ABC's "How to Get Away with Murder." In 2015, she received the Screen Actors Guild Award for "Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series."

Davis also made history by becoming the first African American to receive the Primetime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series."

"Viola is one of the actresses who always mesmerize fans with her talent. She is amazing and we are thrilled that she will grace our world famous Hollywood Walk of Fame," stated Walk of Fame producer, Ana Martinez.

According to the Walk of Fame website, The Hollywood Chamber President Leron Gubler will be unveiling the star with the help of Walk of Famer Meryl Streep.

The event will be live-streamed exclusively on the Walk of Fame website on January 5, 2017 at 11:30am PST.
