The Serena Slam: How the Tennis Star Gracefully Asked This Reporter to Apologize
MAKER Serena Williams handled a reporter who called her defeat against Lucie Safarova "scrappy" and full of unforced errors with grace.
"I think that's a very negative thing to say. Are you serious?" Williams said.
Williams and Safarova played straight sets in the second round of the Australia Open last Thursday.
"That wasn't very kind. You should apologize. Do you want to apologize?" she continued calmly.
"I just did — sorry," the reporter replied, unapologetically.
Williams went on to praise Safarova's skill, complimenting her as a really good player.
