"Wonder Woman" to Begin Shooting This November

"Wonder Woman" will begin production this November.

DC Extended Universe co-producer Deborah Snyder made the announcement during the "See Jane Salon Power to Greenlight" event at the YouTube Space in Los Angeles on September 1.

During the event, Snyder said they specifically wanted a female director and as many female crew members as possible.

Ultimately, director, writer, and producer Patty Jenkins — best known for directing and writing the crime-drama "Monster" — was chosen for the director's role.

"We still wanted a female director and we found Patty Jenkins, who had the right vision, the same vision that we had for the character and we're really happy that we're going to be going into production in November. It's been a really great process, we tried to hire as many females people on the crew, as possible…" said Synder.

Actress Gal Gadot will play Wonder Woman, the greatest of the superheroines.

The movie is set to be released in theaters on June 23, 2017.
