Taylor Barnes is the Director of The United State of Women (USOW), an initiative out of Civic Nation. USOW worked in partnership with the White House to convene the inaugural United State of Women Summit. They continue to be the megaphone for the gender equality movement, empowering young women across the country and pushing an intersectional feminist agenda. Following the Women’s March on Washington, The United State of Women is working with a coalition leading sustained action across the country, including an upcoming week of action from February 18 - 25.
Previously, Taylor served in a variety of political arenas ranging from 2012 Democratic Convention and Presidential Campaign, to the National Women’s Business Council. In 2014, Taylor stepped back from politics and into entrepreneurship when she started a craft brewery with several business partners. Taylor is a native Midwesterner and moved east to pursue Political Communications and Women’s Studies at The George Washington University. In her free time, she enjoys thrift store shopping, boxing, and smashing the patriarchy.
